Preventative Maintenance Inspections
Scheduled light rail track inspections along the Parker Road/I-225 Corridor, which is served by the R and H lines, began on June 27. The quarterly preventative maintenance inspections commenced at Peoria Station, and staff has completed inspections on more than half of the corridor. Based on the findings to date, no new speed restrictions have issued along the Parker Road/I-225 Corridor. More information about RTD’s inspection timelines is available online.

PUC Weekly Update
The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has amended its request for 48-hour status updates. Moving forward, RTD will now provide weekly updates to the PUC. The most recent agency update was sent to the PUC on July 3 and was posted on the speed restrictions webpage.

Maintenance and Repairs

Preventative maintenance and isolated track repairs are currently underway along the Southeast Corridor. As repairs are made, speed restrictions will continue to be lifted. The resumption of normal train speeds is dependent on how quickly repairs are made to the isolated sections of track.

Maintenance schedules are subject to change, and timelines will be updated to reflect any necessary schedule adjustments.

Light Rail Inspections

RTD conducts regular inspections of its entire light rail system. The intent of inspections is to identify preventive maintenance that may need to be addressed in the near-term or future. This proactive approach allows the agency to ensure all rail assets are in a state of good repair.
